  • Why be part of this non-profit organization?

I founded this organization to have an elite team for my project, to have a community around video games.

  • What is your role in the non-profit organization?
  • I am the president of the organization and the manager of the BoTRL TV.

If you could choose, would you have another role within the non-profit organization?

  • No

Which message to send, by this non-profit organization, is the most important for you?

  • Our slogan, the pleasure to play together.

What do you hope for the future of the non-profit organization?

  • For BoTRL to be an evidence when one speaks about video games organization in Luxemburg.

When did you fall into video games?

  • With 3 years (1990), I got my first controller in my handy. I would say that the game which took me the most by the guts was FF VII, I played it first in 1999.

What do you find most enjoyable in video games?

  • To think about nothing else then the tasks you have to accomplish, solo or as a team.

Risky question: Retro or New?

  • Impossible to choose.

What is your favourite franchise / game?

  • Final Fantasy

If a retro game were to have the right to a Remaster, which game would you choose? (choose a game that has not had a Remaster)

  • Zelda Ocarina of Time

What is your favorite console (excluding PC)?

  • It is really hard to choose, I would pick the PS4 because it is the console for which I have the most games.

You have the opportunity to put yourself in the shoes of a video game producer, present your game to us. Title, graphic style, game style (RPG, FPS, etc.), short summary:

  • Zephyrium World, mix between Simulation, Survival and RPG.
  • After choosing your parents, you have you’re a grown up and you have to work and survive in an hostile world.

Why be part of this non-profit organization?

  • Because I like to share the same passion with my friends. And if we can promote this passion in the form of an ASBL (non-profit organization), it is even better.

What is your role in the non-profit organization?

  • I am the income / outcome manager and I write articles for our website.

If you could choose, would you have another role within the non-profit organization?

  • No, I am satisfied with the role I have.

Which message to send, by this non-profit organization, is the most important for you?

  • Video games are a passion that brings together people of all categories and whose primary goal is to make people happy.

What do you hope for the future of the non-profit organization?

  • A nice community and a committee that remains healthy and cooperative.

More personally now,

When did you fall into video games?

  • Around the age of 6-7 when I had an accident and to keep the time in the hospital going, my parents bought me my first Game Boy and that was where it all started.

What do you find most enjoyable in video games?

  • I love games that have a great story to tell and I love games that require the skill to complete a task.

Risky question: Retro or New?

  • New

What is your favourite franchise / game?

  • I love the Uncharted series and I was a veteran in the very first Call of Duty where I invested hours and hours in Multiplayer mode with my old clan.

If a retro game were to have the right to a Remaster, which game would you choose? (choose a game that has not had a Remaster)

  • Starfox Adventures which was released on Gamecube! I have finished this game several times.

What is your favorite console (excluding PC)?

  • PS5

You have the opportunity to put yourself in the shoes of a video game producer, present your game to us. Title, graphic style, game style (RPG, FPS, etc.), short summary:

  • The playstyle would be Adventure with elements of an RPG like the evolution of his character. As I am fascinated by the history itself and especially the era of the world war, the game is set in the era of the 2nd world war. There are a lot of FPS playing in this era, but I miss any adventure games or RPG in this style.
  • I will choose a fairly realistic graphic style with a third character camera.
  • Since I'm not too good at inventing names, the title would simply be “WWII”.

Interview of committee members

You will find here a small interview proposed to the members of the committee in order to get to know them better.

Why be part of this non-profit organisation?

  • First, I decided to join Brotherhood of the red lion, because I found the idea, to promote every aspect of gaming and to build up a community, of this non-profit organisation more than awesome. Furthermore, I wanted to support my friend Alex (President), who initialised the project.
  • Last but not least, in my opinion gaming still does not get the attention as it should be, gaming is a serious hobby and it connects people.

What is your role in the non-profit organization?

  • My main role is treasurer, I ensure that every cent is trackable and that we have at all moments a good overview on our finances. My second role is E-sport manager. I am always in contact with our E-sport members and check what their needs are. Furthermore, I have weekly meetings with the team to be up to date.
  • In addition, I also stream regularly on our Twitch channel and I am also making pictures to promote our streams on social media.
  • I am also the scout of our organisation, in terms of streamers. I am always checking on the social media to see if there are any new Luxemburgish streamers, who want to join our crew.
  • And last but not least, I write some articles from time to time for our webpage.
  • So, as you can see, I am a jack for all trades.

If you could choose, would you have another role within the non-profit organization?

  • Absolutely not, because I love doing all those things and I like how our community is growing.

Which message to send, by this non-profit organization, is the most important for you?

  • For me the most important message is that the fun is always in focus and that we want to build a community with a friendly and family-like atmosphere.

What do you hope for the future of the non-profit organization?

  • For our future, I hope that we are growing and that other people see what a fun and relaxed organisation we are, so that they join us. The big dream is clearly to be one of the biggest community in Luxemburg.

More personally now,

When did you fall into video games?

  • I started video gaming, with 10 years.

What do you find most enjoyable in video games?

  • For me videogames are the escape from reality into a multiverse of fantastic opportunities. When I am playing my games I can relax and forget the worries of my day.
  • In addition, you can meet new people through video games, which shows that games are not so antisocial.

Risky question: Retro or New?

  • Why not both? XD

What is your favourite franchise / game?

  • Definitely Mario games.

If a retro game were to have the right to a Remaster, which game would you choose? (choose a game that has not had a Remaster)

  • Metroid Prime would be a nice remake.

What is your favorite console (excluding PC)?

  • PS5 :D

You have the opportunity to put yourself in the shoes of a video game producer, present your game to us. Title, graphic style, game style (RPG, FPS, etc.), short summary:

  • It would be an MMORPG totally in the fantasy world of the dwarves. With all the different aspects of mining, brewing beer, fighting, jewellery etc. The gameplay would be like Guildwars 1 and the graphic style similar, but with the standards of nowadays. But in which you can also build your own house beneath the mountain and do your own mining.

Interview of committee members

You will find here a small interview proposed to the members of the committee in order to get to know them better.

Why be part of this non-profit organization?

  • I joined because I think, the idea of creating a community for gamers is awesome and gaming organisations like ours should be boosted in Luxembourg

What is your role in the non-profit organization?

  • I am responsible for our social media. I publish the daily Posts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

If you could choose, would you have another role within the non-profit organization?

  • I don’t know, but I like the work I am doing right now!

Which message to send, by this non-profit organization, is the most important for you?

  • For me the most important message to send is that we are all enjoying games and that we want to create a family like community where everybody helps each other.

What do you hope for the future of the non-profit organization?

  • I hope that our organisation keeps on growing. I wish that it becomes a great success and that we are known in Luxembourg.

More personally now,

When did you fall into video games?

  • It started when I was like 6. My brother had a GameCube and I was always watching and I think that’s when I started to enjoy games.

What do you find most enjoyable in video games?

  • I’m a big Dark Souls Fan, which means I like challenging games. I enjoy playing challenging games as much as I rage at them.

Risky question: Retro or New?

  • Maybe that’s because I am much younger than the other Members, but I am definitely on the “News” Side of gaming. I am always surprised by what the creators are able to do, doesn’t matter if it’s an awesome story or new graphics.  New games were always the path of progress.

What is your favourite franchise / game?

  • My favourite franchise is definitely the Dark Souls Trilogy for now. Before Dark Souls I was always hyped for playing The Legend of Zelda and I still am.

If a retro game were to have the right to a Remaster, which game would you choose? (choose a game that has not had a Remaster)

  • I would definitely choose Majin and the forsaken Kingdom. I played that game when I was like 8 or 9. I played it on PS3. I loved the game and I would definitely buy it when it would get remastered.

What is your favorite console (excluding PC)?

  • No comment. xD I do like the Nintendo Switch a lot, but nothing would surpass gaming on a PC. (A better developed VR-Experience might change that., for example Full Body suits.)

You have the opportunity to put yourself in the shoes of a video game producer, present your game to us. Title, graphic style, game style (RPG, FPS, etc.), short summary:

  • The title would be something like “Do or Die!” The graphic style would be like Dark Souls 3, dark, lots of effects, etc.  It would definitely be a Soul’s like game. It would play in our modern Society where the Nuclear Holocaust cause various mutation on animals, who are attacking the Human race. As the protagonist of the story you could choose your starting layout and class, like in the other souls games. You would have to fight those Mutants with guns, swords, etc. The objective is to gather all resources needed to create an antidote that cleanses the World from those mutations. You’ll have to face challenging Boss FIghts in order to get your ressources.

Interview of committee members

You will find here a small interview proposed to the members of the committee in order to get to know them better.

Why be part of this non-profit organization?

To help and spread the passion and history of video games. To let gaming passionate know they are not alone. That there are others like them. So they don’t feel alone, excluded but that they can grow within a community with that organization.

Solidarity, tolerant and passion.

What do you hope for the future of the non-profit organization?

Other than good finances for futurs plans, having the possibility to make some live events and other plans around video games.

More personally now.

When did you fall into video games?

I think this was around the age of 7 with cousins that showed me the Atari 2600 console with the legendary Pong.

What do you find most enjoyable in video games?

To not feel alone, to evolve through the story of a game. Mostly at the end of the game, to have accomplished it proudly and that the games thanks you for having beaten it.

Risky question: Retro or New?

Hmmmm next question

What is your favourite franchise / game?

Super Metroid for SNES

If a retro game were to have the right to a Remaster, which game would you choose? (choose a game that has not had a Remaster)

Super Metroid for the Nintendo Switch

What is your favorite console (excluding PC)?

Vectrex, to me one of the best consoles, that let me mind blown as I first saw it.

You have the opportunity to put yourself in the shoes of a video game producer, present your game to us. Title, graphic style, game style (RPG, FPS, etc.), short summary:

It would be a game with a view from above like the games 1944, where a cat tries to run on a cat tree up to the summit without being harmed and dodging other cats and dogs. Most important, to jump at the right time from one tree to an other that would scroll up and down.

Welcome Stéphane!

First of all, before saying welcome to our new member of the committee, I would like to thank Manu.

He was our secretary, but above all he was one of those who made this project possible. He did everything he could so that Zeph our president could create this magnificent non-profit organization and bring together a beautiful community. All this until making our association a very important player in the Luxembourg Esport scene and helping us to have great projects. It goes without saying that our future projects will also be possible thanks to him. Please know that we are planning a lot of good things in the medium term.

So a big thank you to Manu, to an exemplary member, secretary and friend.

Now, welcome Stéphane!

Nobody puts pressure on you because of who you have to replace, we are sure that you will know how to honor him and help us in all these beautiful projects.

To introduce him, know that he has been a friend and member of our association from the start. He even had a booth during our first event which took place a month before the health crisis.

His booth planned to showcase card games. You surely know Magic the gathering, Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh!

Well, he specializes in one of the most recent games. In particular, the DBZ card game. He is the proud owner of a huge collection of cards and knows the game inside out.

He was able to help our guests to understand the game and quickly appreciate it.

His talents will be appreciable for our non-profit organization and his seriousness will make him an excellent secretary and a member who will know how to make us evolve continuously.

All committee members are happy to see him join our team. For the record, it was voted unanimously by the committee!

Stéphane welcome home!

Hello everyone. As the title suggests, we are pleased to announce that we have prepared a new tournament just for you!

First, here is the image:

flyer event 19.12

Already the necessary information is there. Now what is the tournament rules you will find everything when you register online!

We are very happy because this will also allow us to welcome you in at a new location for this occasion. We met some great people and a great venue for this event. So we wanted to change for this tournament.

A new opportunity to see each other and above all the possibility of discussing, having fun and confronting each other during this tournament on this epic game!

It goes without saying that we are very impatient for this to happen. It will be a little bit Christmas before the hour for our community of geeks! We will be able to see the Luxembourg level on this game and we are waiting for a great show. Come with your own controller or not, everything will be set up for everyone to play.

Who says tournament, says warm-up. A good athlete should be ready at all times! There will be everything planned for that! You can calmly prepare yourself because we will put everything in place to be able to train. TVs, consoles, controllers everything will be there.

A setup close to our first tournament which took place on Mario Kart and which was a great success for us. Many had come to have fun, others for the competition. What stands out is the smiles of the people, the laughter and the cheers. This has strengthened us in the direction of organizing various tournaments.

Smash seemed obvious to us. Everyone on our committee knows the game, many love it and some play it regularly. We greatly hope that you will be able to have as much fun as you did during the first tournament and we will be looking forward to seeing you until then.

While waiting for friends, prepare yourself well because we expect you to be enraged with the urge to conquer and crush everything.

Here is the link to register : https://play.toornament.com/fr/tournaments/4805094974404370432/

Holidays were great

We know. For the holidays everyone has great thoughts, wishes, love and good resolutions. Sadly, it eventually became a bad habit not to achieve our goals that good resolutions became an annoying topic. So annoying that those who had great wishes were discouraged by others that don’t bother as soon as they talk about their great wishes.

Why and from where that habit comes isn’t relevant. We are gamers and our internet site isn’t there to debate about it! Your “geekish.journalist” only wants to wish you, with our ASBL, an happy new year and encourage you with your great resolutions!

If it’s not at the beginning of a year that we may boost one another to achieve our goals then when? Yes, if you understand that otherwise … and so one, clearly. But a new year we can have a new start. We should encourage one another instead of morally downing everyone.

I have great resolutions for this year. Less being upset (grey hairs are sexy but I’m not ready for it), being less lazy, (especially mornings, who invented that concept anyway?) and mostly having as much fun as possible!

Therefore, I guaranty you that our articles will have the best quality possible and that we will try with our ASBL to organize reunions with our community so we may talk gaming, drink gaming, eat gaming and just play together!

It won’t be always easy with the sanitary obligations, it won’t be easy as our committee are fathers, husbands, we have jobs and have a lot to do. Be aware that all we do for the community is done with passion.

While writing new articles we will pay attention to advices, observations and tricks we received. We will never be thankful enough for your generosity and commitment. Now is time for gaming, (marketing) console war, PC Master Race and all other debate about gaming.

I have great expectations for this year, in particular to (finally) purchase a PS5, to test some games. Moreover, I’m impatient for Pokemon Legends, Arceus, Stranger of Paradise, A Final Fantasy Story that will be out soon. I’m impatient to have maximum pleasure with Guardians of the Galaxy, to finally play Final Fantasy VII Remake. Yes, as a huge fan I still didn’t play it and it begins to itch everywhere!

I have hope for some novelties, even for console accessories, who knows? And to get news about the next Final Fantasy (XVI), the next E3 and how we will live the event and other news that could be more surprising than others.

Tell us what you are awaiting for this year, whether it is for your live in general or for gaming! Comment on Facebook or on our site!

Until then, good game to all and a happy coming year!
